West Branch Pine Barrens is a 341-acre preserve in Madison which is among the nation's best examples of northern pine barrens. It has many rare species of moths and butterflies. Come walk the new 3/4 mile loop trail built by 40 volunteers. This exceptional preserve represents one of the best places to visit the globally rare pine barrens habitat. Round trip: 1.65 miles. Directions: · From the junction of Route 16 and Route 41 in Ossipee, follow route 41 North for approximately 2 miles. · The entrance to the preserve will be on the Right side of the road
